[Sobre o Windows 10] Independent test shows Edge is more battery efficient than Opera, Chrome

Recently, Microsoft compared Microsoft Edge’s battery efficiency against Google Chrome, Opera, and Firefox. The company announced that Microsoft Edge consumes 70% less battery than Google Chrome. As you may expect, Microsoft Edge won the test because of the optimizations the browser includes. However, Opera then did their own test in which Opera beat Microsoft Edge. Opera’s test wasn’t exactly fair as they tested Opera with the built-in ad-blocker enabled — on the other hand, Microsoft didn’t use any ad-blockers during its own test. Now, the folks over at PCWorld did their own battery test for all of the leading browser — and unsurprisingly enough, Microsoft Edge won:

On Monday, Microsoft highlighted on their blog that Microsoft Edge is the most power efficient web browser on Windows 10. To prove their claim, they connected a Surface Book to specialized power monitoring equipment and measured the actual power usage during typical browsing activities in the latest stable versions of Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. They automated each browser to perform the same series of activities like opening websites, scrolling through articles, and watching videos, opening new tabs for each task. They also used the same websites like Facebook, Google, YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia and more.
